Working with Children Victims and/or Witnesses of Violence: the laboratory, in the centre for women and children in need, La Ginestra- Valmontone (Rome)
Abstract
The present essay describes a particular kind of institutional work as it takes place in the laboratory held at La Ginestra – Valmontone (Rome, Italy), with children who have been victims of and/or have been witnessing episodes of violence.
The laboratory’s practice is inspired by some key ideas of the pratique à plusieurs also followed by a number of institutions that deal with Applied Psychoanalysis across many countries in the world. Such a practice relates to the theoretical and clinical orientation provided by Jacques Lacan.
Below here is a brief clinical example showing the work made with a child who had been witnessing episodes of violence.
